I have a gateway system with a 500mhz P111... it has an intel mobo using the 440bx chipset... I want to know what the best board for overclocking this chip is and if i can put that mother board in my gateway case and use my gateway psu... any recommendations would be welcome I am trying to get a little more use out of a bad purchase... it cost me almost twice as much to buy this system as I would have payed to build it *sighs in disgust :(

Yes it is possible to swap your MOBO.
Take a look here> http://www.gateway.com/support/manlib/cmponts/sysboard/8507015/index.htm
But don't ask me what the 'best' MOBO is for 'your' CPU (or any other CPU).
There are lots of good MOBO's for O/Cing.
I suggest you take a look around in the forum, reviews and visit other sites like:

I'm pretty sure the page you listed for replacing the mobo was intended for people replacing their board with the same kind? (didn't read it all)

it's very unlilkely you'll find an atx board to fit in your proprietary case, therefore you may have to replace the case. Some get lucky however and are able to keep the case.
