I have an Asus A7m266 and I know that the only way of changing the multiplier is supposed to be by adding dipswitches and changing resistors. But when I go into the bios it has an option for cpu multiplier, it's just greyed out. Is this a useless option? I thought the L1 bridges were connected on my new chip but I could easily be wrong, I didn't look very hard. Did Asus ever release a version of the board were the multiplier could be changed in the bios?

Just wondering, thanks.

I believe the earliest boards allowed adjusting the CPU multiplier. My revision 1.04 board also has a greyed out "CPU multiplier". Are you considering the CPU Multiplier mod?

No they never put this board out with the option(neither in the bios or w/a dip-switch)to change the multiplier. They signed a contract with AMD saying they would not so I wouldn't expect that they will in the future either. Sucks dont it!
