I use to have a Barton 2500+ now I bought a 3200+ What are good settings in the bios?? My spec are below, Thanks

My oc setting's

As you can see from my com it might not be the same hardware which will affect your result's. From everything i have read they say the 3200+ doesn't like to clock. Any way here we go 12.5x200=2.5,core votage is 1.8, mem is 2.7 volt's,agp is 66 mhz, my mem timing's are fairly loose right now at 3 5 5 9.I will be trying to up the FSB over time but i don't think the mobo and cpu are game for huge jump's. Any way good luck.

Asus Probe

Asus A7N8X-E
AMD Barton 3200+
80gig WD hard drive
1024 mb Kingston ram
Radeon 9800 Pro
Thermaltake 480W silent purepower
When I run the probe I am told the power fan is below threshold and shows no rpm's. I know the fans are running. I also get error messages at boot cp failed due to overclocking. I don't even know what overclocking means or how to do it. Games often crash on me. I built this PC knowing nothing about what I was doing. It was something I wanted to do and now I am unhappy with the results. I also do not know what you guys are talking about changing voltage and such. Can anyone offer suggestions? Maybe I do not have the PS connected right. There was no instructions.

there is a setting on the pc probe where you can uncheck power fan monitor.
on the MB there are 2 connectors, one for chasis fan and the other is power fan. you should check to see if its plugged in. some powersupplys dont come with a power fan connector. for voltage and other setting, you need to go into bios. to get there press delete when you get into the asus a7n8x deluxe logo screen. from there you should be able to find all you need. since you have a E deluxe you could try the nividia system utility also.

PS is a Thermaltake Silent Purepower 480W with "Active PFC"? It peaks at 550W, 2VR fan speed cotrollers one for front drive bay and one rear PCI slot. I have neither of these connected. It is model number W0011. There is a lead that looks as if it should be connected however I see no slot on the mobo. Like I said I know very little about PC's and have no idea about setting the voltage. Can that be done in the Asus Probe or do you go into the bios which scares me a lot?

How do some of you guys post your system pc specs in you message. Do you manually type this in your documents and cut and paste?

CPU 51/123
Mobo 26/78
CPU fan 3590
Chassis fan 3096
Power fan 0
Vcore 1.696
+12v 12.608
+5v 4.972
+3.3v 3.408
This is info from the Asus Probe

Don't trust asus probe use a voltmeter to check rails. It is way off on mine. Not to sure on temps though.

It's called the signature. If you go into your profile you can add one. There are several rules to keep in mind. For example, the only URLs allowed are for your heatware or for any OC.com sponsered team. The folding team, seti team, or 3dmark team. It also must be 'G' rated.

Look here for more info.

Welcome to the forums.

I know have a 3200+ on an A7N8X-DLX in the house (not my machine). It is set to all stock settings. No OC at this time. Memory timings, voltages, etc are all at stock right now.
