A7V-133 1005a bios update.....

Just updated my bios from 1004 to the new 1005a.
It has given me 3-5% increases in all tests using passmark performance test (my baseline hardly differs every time i run it)
only a small increase but better then none (im only using duron so maybe thunderbird might be better)
has a few new options in the bios too, like now being able to select cpu throttling or shutdown when it overheats, detect cpu fan on startup, and system beep when cpu fan fails (havent noticed anything else yet)

Uh . . . could you please post a link to that particular BIOS? I was at the asus site, but all there is is the 1004 BIOS. Where did you d/l the 1005a BIOS from? Was it from Asus?

Oni, I was just there yesterday, and the 1005a bios was there and i down loaded it, have not flashed my bios yet with it. But your right i went back to see if it was there and it is not. Makes me wonder if something is not right with it, But if you want i could e-mail you the file if you want it.

Alrighty peeps, found out that only www.asus.com.tw have the 1005a bios. other asus sites are yet to update. (usually the best one too check as the mobos are made in taiwan after all)

I'm pulling in the new BIOS now, and I'm gunna flash as soon as possible.
