I cannot get my WD 10gig to be recognized in the bios. It shows up in my other machine and the WD utility says no problem. Anyone had this problem before?

plug it in to your standard ide bus fdisk it format it install os then plug it into ata100bus turn controller on in bios and that should do it....

I had previously did what you just said. No go. It will not recognize it. I'm thinking I may have to flash my bios or something. I've already tried new cable and such. What is the newest good bios for the A7V? I know some of the later versions 1005** were a little flakey.
Thanks.

Get the 1004d if you can find it - the best bit about the 1005 series is that they allow you to change the fsb in 1MHz increments, but above103/104 they won't let you set performance to 'optimal' which makes it kinda pointless. Plus some of them are more unstable than 1004d, which seems to be most people's favourite. Go to http://download.asus.com.tw to get the latest Promise driver, that might help.

I missed the "other" when I specified the boot order. It boots but does not show up in bios. My fault, but I think the bios could be made clearer. Thanks for the input.
