I turned on my computer the other day and noticed that the fan on the mobo is making a lot of noise. I even noticed that it was turning really slow at one point. I was wondering what is the easiest way to replace/repair the thing. Any suggestions please.

Most chipset fans are held on by little push pins which can be removed by taking out the mobo and pushing them out from the back. Then you'd just have to look for a replacement 40mm fan - dunno where you could get one from I'm afraid, someone in the US would have to help you with that.

My A7V133 fan did the same thing after about a month. I have 2 friends with the same board and both their fans did the same thing, I think Asus got a bad batch of fans! To solve the problem I took an Intel P3 heatsink drilled/tapped some holes in the bottom of it, lapped it, used some AS2, and bolted it onto the chipset. Works very good and I got a few extra mhz of fsb speed out of it to. I think this is a very fitting use of Intel products, the best they are suited for is to cool my chipset :)

Mine too! I called the supplier to request they send me a 55 cent replacement fan, but they insisted on replacing the whole motherboard! You all must be right, I think they got a bad batch. You might check out my blorb mod, www.overclockers.com/tips465. Even if you don't care about doing it, there is a picture of the board without the fan, so you can see what you'll find under the cheap fan when you push the little plastic pins out from underneath. Good luck!

U got the exactly same problem as i had. Making lots of noise specially right after turning the system on!! After a while i got bluescreens and **** so i opened up my chase and found that the damn chipset fan had stopped spinning.

Buy an blueorb and swap it with the **** u got with the a7v133 board or it might stop soon.

The fan on the a7v133 is really crappy, mine didnt last even 2weeks before it died

Dude, simple to fix. peel sticker on top of fan up so and u will see a tiny hole, put in drop of oil.... voila prob solved (mine was right but my bros done it)
sposed to of been a batch of dry fans. (so i read anyway)
