I set this motherboard to jumper free mode and switched it to the palinimo side( left) and the computer will not boot in the standard 1533 mhz mode for xp @133 fsb(its a xp1800+ cpu)
it keeps jumping back to 1150 mhz @100fsb to boot, then once it does, runs flawlessly.
Anyone ever had this happen to them before?
Also I dont have raid but got HD/Cdwriteable as master/slave IDES and it runs fine but I go thru the detecting process everytime and it says ata100 bus not installed cause of no ata 100 devices( yet hard drive is a ultra 100 7200 rpm and shows that in bios.).
Can anyone help me work the bugs outa this dang thing:(

if you want to oc set the double jumper to athlon/duron to get the multipliers to change(cpu must be unlocked)
the ultra boot up is for the raid
to disable the ultra load seq during boot up, download the newer bios- i use 1006- seems stable w/no problems for me.
use the update utility from the mobo cd, it will download and updat the bios from within windows. after you update the bios there will be an option to disable the utra boot-up in the bios. run the cd and the hdd on seperate ide channels for better performance, setting them both as the master on each ide channel
hope this helps, if you need anything else just let us know:D

Ok problems solved!
one last question
My last 266 board has 2.65 volts as default for input/output.
The manual had 2.65 listed as well , then had a updated insert that suggested 2.80 volts
Which would you suggest?

if your're talking about the mem voltage, default is 2.65 but you can raise it if you plan on oc'ing the mem. you should be able to safely run it to max w/good mem with no problem

Yes its the dram/pci/agpchipset voltage settings.
Just odd the orginal manual for this motherboard and my old used 2.65 yet the updated insert said use 2.80, I set it 2.65 anyways since I do not plan overclocking at this time.
One last question for people with this motherboard.
I have it set to 1.75 in bios for core but the reader program for this motheboard( asus pc probe) shows 1.84 Core voltage.
I know alot run this setting but I found it odd its nearly .1 higher then I have it actually set.

mines se to factory default (1.75) but it shows 1.776. i think some of the bios updates were supposed to fix that.

My Bios v.core reading is set to 1.75 but Asus probe on the desktop shows 1.824, apparently all the Asus mobo`s to date are reading this error, you would think it would have been sorted by now in a latest Bios. update.
