i know they have different chipsets, but what does that do for it... i'm looking to put in a 1.2 tbird. which board is more stable, will have better driver support, and is there a speed difference in them. i was going for the a7v266, but i don't know anything about the ali chipset. the a7m266 has the amd chipset right? this is just confusing to me. will i be able to monitor cpu temp and all that stuff on the a7v266? the asus website didn't say. thanks for the help

I believe that you mean A7V133, not 266. The main difference between these boards is that the A7M266 supports DDR, wheras the A7V133 is SDR. Both are stable boards, but I believe that the earlier A7M models are not overclocker friendly. Just so you know.

Nah, I'm pretty sure he means the A7V266 (Via KT266 chipset, DDR).

I'd say based on a lot of the KT266 board tests I've seen, that in general, KT266 performance is on par with AMD 760. Keep in mind that I havent seen specific A7V266 tests.

The major difference, I believe, id you'll probably get full overclocking control and capability with the A7V266, if it follows along the path of the A7V and the A7V133.

i don't think the a7v266 is out yet.
it oughta be sweet when it comes...i happen to like the A7(a/m/v)266 mobos...asides from the BIOS thing,

I'm not sure if the A7V266 is out yet... But I have the A7M266 and have been quite pleased with its performance. The only bad thing is that they didn't include the clock multiplier on the board, but it wasn't difficult to solder one on, and now the board works great.

Check out the links at this site:
and you will see at least 2 different versions of this board, both beta I'm sure as I haven't seen it for sale anywhere.
What is with putting the DIP switch block next to the Socket A?? I would think that a large HSF may come close to blocking it and would make it harder to get to!!
And, one has a 6 switch and the other a 5 !!
I also noticed the lack of the 2nd set of IDE channels on one of the boards.

oh boy, am i a newbie who does typos.... ya'll gonna hate me for this but i meant a7A266 with the ali chipset... i'm sorry. i was starting to think i was all messed up when all of you replied saying the board wasn't out yet. i'm sorry about that, i guess that "a" & "v" made a HUGE difference. if anyone feels like replying though thank. and thanks "dad" for the post, i'm reading the reviews on the site now.
