I bought an A8N-VM (NOT CSM, etc.) and installed a 4400 X2 in it. I know, the OC options are limited but it's better than nothing for now - or so I thought! I have tried several fixes to get this board to recognize the X2 but it just won't. I've tried the MS hotfix and the files are where they're supposed to be but Device Manager isn't using them and I can't seem to manually update the board driver to the amdacpi.dll driver it needs (anybody have an amdacpi.inf file???).
I've installed the latest drivers from ASUS and the BIOS that's installed post-dates the latest BIOS on the ASUS website but the number sequence looks right so I'm guessing since Monarch is a "re-builder" they have access to files we don't. According to ASUS the BIOS for this board has supported X2 since the 0505 build - the latest is 0902 on the website and 0908 on my board.
In any event between Monarch, ASUS, and XP Pro I'm hosed ... any suggestions???
