Hi guys,

I have just finished transplanting P4 system to AMD system. After format and fresh install, the onboard LAN is not working. Windows always point out that the "network cable unplugged", which is not true.

It was working before when I have not done fresh windows install. I also have updated the BIOS to ver. 1009, and updated the network card driver to the WHQL latest driver from Asus site.

Please give me some advice, I might missed something out?

Thank you.

Enable the onboard LAN in the BIOS and use the latest Marvell Yukon drivers by doing a Windows update. Did you reset your modem?

I have enabled the BIOS, but i disabled SATA and RAID controller since i don't use them. i am doing another reformat right now hopefully that will fixed it. will post result as soon as i am done.

Thanks for the reply.

have done reformat, same thing again, i have updated the lan driver to the latest one from marvell website, still no luck. the wierd thing is that the light on the modem connection is on but my ethernet card seems do not want to detect it.

from the command line try ipconfig /renew

I am assuming you have a router?

when you moved motherboards the mac address has changed. Your previous motherboard (on board lan) or NIC card had different mac addresses from the new motherboard on board lan.

Check your router settings and see if you have restricted access to only the old mac address, you may also have to clone the mac address of the router....just some thoughts

i can't do that because it says that device is disconnected.

I am not using a router but the DSL modem that i have came with built in ethernet for 4 devices and also have wireless support. i have a feeling that the reason that windows keep giving me "network cable unplugged" is because of the incompatability of the marvell LAN drivers with my old unupgraded windows XP, i think with SP1 or SP2 it should solved the problem but i can't download them since i am not connected to internet. urgghhh...

is there anybody that have almost same setting as me having this problem with the Asus A8V deluxe?
