My machine was working absolutely fine until today.

I try to turn it on, it does nothing.

I clear CMOS and it starts.

I shutdown.

I try to start machine again, same issue. I have to clear CMOS again.

What can be causing this? I didn't change anything in the bios but again I had to clear the CMOS to start.

Also: in windows in uguru it does not show CPU fanspeed or voltage. I checked to make sure that the cpu (c2d e6300) fan is plugged into the mobo, and it is.

I also get a continuous series of long beeps from the mobo, but the "beep code" forum sticky doesnt show an instance of a continuous set of long beeps.

Any ideas???

It can't be my ram because it has been working fine for a month. problem just started today. I am using 1.5 bios.

Well, "most" of the time, long beeps at boot up indicate a RAM problem. Maybe try one stick at a time and/or increase vdimm a little.
