I recently upgraded (i think) from a P2 sl2w8 300 @ 450 to a Celeron 633 that I got stable on this motherboard at 950mhz (100mhz FSB). By the way 2.0 volts, a golden orb fan and really good case cooling.

First question is
1) What exactly does the temperature sensor in the Bios measure and how accurate is that a reflection of the CPU temp?

2nd
2) Whenever I've tried to enable the Turbo frequency in BIOS all I've ever gotten is the same speeds (at least according to POST). This is on both of the above processors. Is there something I don't know or that I am doing wrong.

Thanks

1) It measures the ambient system temperature

2) Turbo adds 3% to the FSB and VCore (CPU voltage) - it's in the manual :) You won't see it upon post, but in windows, programs which report CPU speeds will show it to be higher. Like a C300A@450MHz, with turbo frequency on boosts the FSB to 103MHz and the CPU speed will then show @ 464MHz.

CPU Z will give you the real speed.
Here is where to find it:
