Ok my friend had these spare parts laying around and asked me if i could buid a computer out of it for him. The motherboard is a Asus BX-133 BE6-II and will support up to a intel copermine 800 and says a celly and p2.

there is no manual and i cannot find a pfd file of it so if anyone knows where i can get that tell please.

heres the thing am guessing that the max multiplier of the board is 8 (x 100 = 800coppermine)
his chip is a 566 +(8.5x66) so am guessing that the chip wont work. did the old cellys have a changeble multiplier? 8.0x66 = 533 witch the board would suppot.

i don't know alot about intels but this is what i though.

BX-133 is an ABIT BOARD
BE6-II is an ABIT board

their is no board called the BX-133 BE6-II

the BX-133 is a socket 370 board
http://www.abit-usa.com/eng/product/mb/bx133.htm

the BE6-II is a slot 1 board
http://www.abit-usa.com/eng/product/mb/be6r2.htm

Both the ABIT boards will have NO PROBLEMS running the 566
and if the CPU can take it, both boards will be able to bring that celeron upto 850 MHz+
And if you get a 100 MHz CPU both boards should be able to take you to 133FSB without and problems

ABIT made some of the VERY BEST BX boards (my BIAS opinion)

my friend got this board (its the be6-ii) and it work before he got it and is using a socklet (or what ever there called) with a 566 celly (witch worked before he got it) the board has a PCI Voodoo 3000 and 512MB SD133 ram. when it goes for a boot nothing shows. the video card worked find ~2 or so hours before (was pulled from an old k6-2)

the 512 of SDRAM could be causeing the problem
the BX chipset only support 256 meg sticks....
512 should still work, but only 256 will be used...
try a smaller stuck, that may help.

So all your parts are know good.....
Have you tried holding down the "INSERT" key while booting?
that may help.

And how is the board jupped? are you using the DIP switches? or is it set to AUTO (BIOS controlled)

What about power, is the PSU any good?

its probably a be6 II if its slot 1 and it says be6 II on the board. now make sure your reading the numbers right. there are several be6 boards.

be6
be6 2
be6 II
be6 II 2

the be6 II 2 is the best of the bunch. and they will support all cumines (.18 micron)

Find out exactly what board you are using and flash it with the most recent and correct bios update. Make sure its the correct bios update or your motherbard will be garbage. Then make sure you are using working parts and narrow the problem down. Make sure you are using compatible RAM. Some Ram is not compatilble with BX chipset. Depends on the density of the ram. Building a PC is a pain in the *** when it doesnt work correctly buy rewarding when it plan comes together.
