Abit KA-7 Slot A motherboard

Hi there fellow posters, I am new to this forum, and need your qualified help.

I have an ABIT KA7 Slot-A motherboard and am currently using a classic Athlon 800Mhz CPU, and just was given a T-Bird 800Mhz Slot-A Athlon.

My question to you is "can I use a T-Bird 800Mhz Slot-A CPU" with my current Abit-Ka7 motherboard?

Please advise.

Officially no... But some ppl have had luck running them...

My Slot A 700 Bird was unstable on my K7V... Works fine on my K7V-T though....

Get the latest Bios Version, set the volatage at the right values and have a try...You won´t damage anything....and in some cases it works fine!
