bottom line, what is the best cooler that will fit this board, noise is not a issue for me, low temps is the only concern. Please include a web address where it can be purchase if you have it available, ideally I would like a place that can sell me the heatsink and my choice of fan to go with it

thanks!

I just purchased the SwiftTech 462 but I am waiting for it to arive. I will let you know when it does.

also, your opinions: Have the fan blow down on the cooler or suck the air away from the cooler? I've pretty much decided to use the delta black 60mm fan, I'm not bothered by the noise at all, so if you guys know of a more powerful 60mm fan to use, by all means please let me know!

I have the Alpha PEP66 with Delta 38CFM and did the top mount mod (blowing DOWN), works great so far with my 1GHz T-Bird running at 1.31GHz @ 1.65V with idle temp of 32-34 and max temp of 37-39 (the temp in my room is hard to regulate...).

I bought it from http://www.millisec.com since they take credit cards and I couldn't wait for my PayPal stuff to be activated since thats all http://www.2cooltek.com would take.

BTW to anyone else reading, do those temps seem right?

Does an Alpha Pal 6035 fit on a KT7A?
Would it keep a 1G tbird cool if using arctic silver?

hey reneg@de: what is your setup (board, ram, etc- I'd be pretty happy to get my t-bird to what you posted!)

I've got an ABit KT7A-RAID, 256MB Crucial PC133 CAS 2. My USB mouse stops working before my processor does, I've booted at 1378 but my mouse won't work (I still don't know why...). BTW those temps are with the case open since with the front panel on my intake 120mm fan isn't getting enough air.... I'm going to cut up the front some more and then I can give you the closed temps :) If the closed temps are much higher I'll probably cut a hole in the side of my case and make a duct for the cpu. My case is starting to look somewhat mangled though... :( I don't have m4d j1gs4w sk1llz0rz... ;-)

I have the KT7A-R and I use a FOP 32 with YS Tech 60 MM fan.... I have tried a couple of different heatsinks, 2 generic ones, the FOP and a Chrome orb and so far the only one to not work is the Orb.

Yeah ...did u have to chop the orb to get it to fit hehe ... i did .... thanks Dremel :)
But the Orb is still pants :(
Im thinking of going for a globalwin fop38 :) ?

Ive got a Super Orb, it dropped my 950 tbird to 28 idle and 35 full load. Not bad for 16 bucks.
