Does anyone have a good procedure to overclock KT7A? Would appreciate any suggestions. My system is 800mhz T-Bird, 133 ram, dual case fans. oversize heat sink and fan, runs between 40 to 50 degrees running Win 98SE.

Reading the manual helps.. but what I would suggest depends greatly on other components and cooling.. not to mention CPU speed.

Do u have a Duron or a Athlon ?
What Mhz is it ?
Do you have PC100 ram or PC133 ram ?
What HSF are you using ?
Do you have case cooling ?
What tempratures do you currently have ?
and so much more .. etc

If you have any specific questions that are not so vague tell us as much as you can about your computer system and tempratures so that we can help more

Sorry, I was not thinking clearly. I have a 800mhz TBird, 133 Ram, case cooling times 2, running between 42 to 50 degrees. Am not familiar with HSF.

Thanks,
Harley

Harley, if you intend to OC that setup, you should consider better cooling as the temp will be going up even more than you already have, which is not too good.

I agree with Hoot... temps are looking a little scary on that one. I'd consider going with a brand name HSF to lower your operating temps, because 50 C is borderline on unstable territory. Another thing to try would be the halt-on-idle tweak to register 52 using WPCRSET. Here's an article about how to do that: AthlonOC

Good luck, and remember to RTFM.
