Walked through a KT7A-Raid install w/ a co-worker today. He did not setup two drives in a RAID array but did have problems w/ an SBLive Value card causing Windows 2000 Pro to hang during "Hardware Registration".

Setup was 1.2 TB, 256PC133, GeForce 2 MX, 75Gig IBM, DVD-Rom Drive w/ Decoder, CD Burner, Modem, NIC....

After the install hung twice, I mentioned all the discussion regarding SBLive cards and the Abit boards. After some brain crunching (about 5min. where he just sat and didn't speak...aka...Deep Ponder Mode). He pulled the SBLive card, told me it was probably an IRQ issue, rebooted and continued install w/o a hitch.

We did not get into detail regarding the cause of the problem but he believed that the HighPoint controller and the SBLive card were having IRQ sharing problems.

Seemed like a very easy fix. The box is running great..sound card software was loaded following the OS load. Now...I'm sure this could be a unique situation but I just wanted to let everyone know the steps he followed to work around the problem.
