I jus got all my parts in for my cpu and now it want post up for the first time, is there any problems with this MOBO and the mem? I have a Athlon 1.13 266FSB with 512 megs of Crucial mem and a Elsa Ultra VGA all hooked up to my Abit KT7A-RAID MOBO but when i try to post the system for first time i dont get any beeps out of my cpu speaker all i get is some static???? All my fans come on the keyboard lights up but the monitor does nothing and i know its not the monitor. So i put in a different VGA that i know works and it still did the same thing then i put in different mem to no avail same results. Is it possible that i have a bad MOBO? Non-the-less the MOBO was sent back today RSA for testing to c if thats what it really is. Anyone have any clues and is there anyone that knows if this MOBO is compatible with the Crucial mem?? TY in advanced. First time poster here sorry for the long post HELP??

Assuming you installed everything correctly, it sounds like your bios chip is bad or the CPU is dead. I think that it is likely that your bios got reset somehow. Sometimes it helps just to reset it with the jumper, or in more severe cases you disconnect power and pull out the battery.

Good luck

Do you have the fan for the processor connected to the herder closest to the ram slots ??? Is there a fan connected to the #1 header.

Also make sure you do not have all fan headers hooked up to fans,MY KT7A would not acess the bios with 3 fans drawing power,I hooked these fans directly to power supplay and all was fine.

If you don't have the CPU fan connected to header #1 on the mobo, (it is usually a differnt color than the others and it is marked as FAN 1), the system will not post. The BIOS is designed to look for that fan to make sure that you do not burn up your CPU. The newer BIOS revisions allow you to turn this off.

Excellent response! Exactly as the manual suggests prior to firing up the board for the first time...

.....Anyone have any clues and is there anyone that knows if this MOBO is compatible with the Crucial mem??....

ah, my 3 sticks crucial pc133 cas2 ecc registered 256meg ram works fine with kt7-raid (not kt7a). except it won't run with setting host+pci clock which is 133mhz fsb... =/ (merely bios problem i believe, yh revision).

Not being an expert or anything but I was told by several others crucial Micron memory is compatible I am building a system as we speak with an abit kt7a-raid board and crucial micron pc133 cl2 memory
