Just ordered myself a nice Abit KT7E motherboard. Shipping + board = $120. The reason I bought this is because of the reviews for the KT133E chipset. I didn't want to pay the price to get a KT133A chipset, but wanted to boost my FSB on my 800 Duron safely to 133 x 9 without overclocking any PCI or AGP cards. According to www.viahardware.com the Via KT133E chipset is supposed to allow for stable frequency changing above the rated 100mhz, without causing other system components to crap out (Network, Modem, Sound, etc.) Has anyone heard anything about this board? It was a difficult board to come by (I work at a computer store -- and we had to search multiple suppliers to find it) and is verrrrrrrrrrrrry mysterious. Please post your experiences with this board.

P.S. this will be my first AMD computer (have 6 Intel's running around) :)

well see taht the thing not to many peeps have gotin the board but i am definitly getting it..266 fsb support or not im getting it to match the geforce 3 hercules video card that i may get or geforce 2 ultra...both are solid blue....sweeeeeeeet.

well, for sure the kt7e can handle 133mhz fsb but I am anxious to see if the duron 800 could make 9x133=1197mhz... that is an exciting one... my 800 duron now is running 8x133= 1066mhz :) :) :)

Hehehehe, we'll see... that was my ultimate goal, but doubt I can get there without peltier or watercooling. I want to get to 1.05-1.1ghz stable running about 50 C with my Alpha... for some reason, I am good at tweaking and overclocking, got my friend's computer from 600 to 2100 on 3dmark2001 by just a few memory settings.

NICE DURON OVERCLOCK

WELL DONE

supraway; i think my 800 duron reached its limit, 1066. At 8.5x133 it means doom, even 8x136 could not make to windows. I don't use fancy hsf just modified the cooler master with a bigger fan, sanyo dendy 80x80 and the cpu temp idle now is 22C, it is kind of cold today though. Full load Cpu temp is always less than 40C.
