sata, raid, firewire and soundstorm.

the nf7-s has them, the nf7 doesnt.

Welcome to the forums:)

Yup, just for reference, SoundStorm is quite nice audio. 5.1 channels and of a higher sound quality than SBLive! 5.1 (or so i hear) also i think i read somewhere that it uses fewer resources than Audigy. I dont know all this for sure so check up on it yourself, but i just wanted you to be aware that soundstorm is not your basic onboard sound.

EDIT: Just to clarify, the non -S version also has onboard audio but its not nearly as nice as soundstorm.

As stated in this other thread I'm getting an NF7-S because of all it's extras. For just $30 more(at newegg) you get great sound(for mobo-integrated standards, take off $35 for an SB-Live, it's already paid itself for the extra cost), SATA(another $30 saved vs. a PCI card), IEEE 1394a(FireWire 400, another $19 saved). That's $84 in other stuff you don't need to buy(only counting the stuff that the -S includes over the plain model). Though, if you don't need all of that the NF7 is still a pretty good buy at $70(newegg.com price).
