you mean the volt mode on the RDRAM, most likely yes you have to do it. I get errors when i try to ran the Memory at 533Mhz.
 
You can put the memory down to 300mhz (in BIOS) and it may work at 1066mhz, not guaranteed though but will likely work.
This board supports PC1066 memory sticks whenever they come out.

I'm not sure what that Vmod does, but you need to solder the motherboard for it, i'm not sure exactly if this mod supports higher memory speeds.
