About 75 dollars for a motherboard... When you are broke that sounds NICE!

But once you get it home and you read up on the forums.. you wish you had gone with the Epox or another good mobo. I was at the LA Computer fair and bought an AMD 1ghz 266mhz w/HSF and ECS K7VTA3 for $161. I haven't overclocked in the past so I wasn't really thinking of it. But now I'm wanting to get into overclocking my cpu. Well this mobo lacks the overclocking features. FSB settings of 100 or 133 that is it :(
So looks like I'm going to be buying a new mobo soon :( So for all you bargin hunters, stop hunting and fork out the extra money. You'll be happy in the long run.

Now a few questions.
Anyone have this board?
I'm having alittle trouble, I guess you could call it trouble.
In the bios I have my AGP slot set to 4x
my software for my Geforce 2 GTS reads only 1x
if I set the AGP slot to 1x in the Bios, in the software I can set it to 4x
I can't really notice any difference in performance in my games at any of these settings.
Can anyone give some info on this?

And beware bargin hunters :)

ya get what ya pay for :)

welcome to the forums and welcome to the wonderfully intoxicating world of overclocking ^_^

A great bargain motherboard is the MSI K7T Turbo. Its around $95 online and is a great motherboard.

That does sound like a good bargin board there.
And thx for the welcome Amedeo602... this is addicting :)
I've been spending 2 hours a night for the last week on this board and surfing around.
Midnight to 2am :)

this is a great place. The MSI board is great, its extremely stable and very good at overclocking. I have it. Its not the best mobo out there, but it is really good and is the cheapest of the good mobos I know of.

Hey Bakeman check out Newegg.com I just picked up a refurbished Msi K7T Turbo for $65 shipped. Its for my Uncles system so I won't be overclocking it but stability should be great. The board is refurbished but it still includes everything you would expect from a new board. The only drawback is a 30 day warranty instead of 1 year. I think 1/3 less price is better than more warranty since it will be out of date in a month. The only way I could tell that it was a refurb was the P3 motherboard box it came in.

I went to that fair this past Saturday (in Reseda) and spent about $650 and got a boatload of stuff.

Great show.

I agree with Amedeo602...I was trying to fix some box's with PCchips Mobo's and just gave up...looked great on paper but in the real world didnt get it...If I were you I'd pony up some more dough and by the real deal...cheap mobo's will drive you crazy!!!

I just bought this Epox 8K7A for $136 to my door after tax and shipping from Newegg this is a great budget board better then paying 200 for the abit Kg7.

I'll have to look into that and see if that is the road I want to travel
