Im about to swap my Abit BE6II v1.2 to a Abit BE6II V.2..Now this new board supports ATA100,and Raid and some other features. Should I format the hard drive, and do a clean install????

I also put some artic Silver under the"Greene" is that a good Idea??

And by the way,,If you have a water cooled system with a 85 Watt peltier,,and you get some new ram,,and install it,,and think to yourself"While I have all this apart Ill just check for condensation while im hear" and pull the water block off ,and think to yourself,,Need some more light hear, and you hit the MAIN power switch on you power controller,,and you forget to unplug the pump!!!!! YOU WILL BE BUYING A NEW MOBO!!!!! Luckly everything else survived!!!!!

A clean install is seldom a bad idea. In your place though, I think I would try a traight swap initially. You can always format later if necesary. I always put thermal compound under the "greenie" I have found many that didn't have any to begin with. Of course I usually put a fan on them for BX MBs.

Well I got it swapped out, with no prolbs,,I didnt format the HD and all seems ok,,There was NO thermal grease inder that greenie,,I have a chipset cooler,,But the greenie is so close to the CUP/Waterblock it wont fit,,Wish it would

Is it easy to remove the green heat sinks? I have never checked mine for thermal grease.

its easy if you have the MOBO out. theres 2 plastic things you have to push out through the back. I cant belive they didnt put any on my Abit BE6II theres none on my soggy board That I had to replace also.

Do you think it is worth yanking my board just for grease on the green sink?

I wouldnt I just did it cuz I was installing it,,since it was out why not
