The truth?? You can't handle the truth!!
Recently, my 9600PRO died on me, so I'm back on my 9000PRO, now the thing is that my 9000PRO displays random things, instead of the normal letters while I am in the bios, and before any os loads any form of graphic card drivers. Outside of the bios, it displays $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ in a chess board pattern. I have narrowed it down to either A) being the bios in the graphic card or B) being some kind of hardware problem (remember this thing was under a 3 pound psu for about 2 months). So I want to flash the bios, anyone know where I can dl it??? And how I can flash it??? Or does anyone have any better ideas. No getting a new card is outside of my budget.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ in chessboard patter means you have artifacts i believe someone correct me if im wrong.

You screwed something up on the card, it could also be overheating or overclcoked too far.

It's graphical distortion, or artifacts.
