Acoustic Edge crackling

If I play an mp3 or a game off my backup drive (Samsung 20gb 5400rpm), the hd activity light will come on and while it is on the sound will come out crackly. Like a song will be playing and as soon as the hd activity light comes on it will crackle, and then stop when the light goes off. This doesn't happen on my primary drive. Thank you in advance for any help.

It sounds odd. Have you tried putting the HDD on another channel?

Had this problem on my old old machine... Never did figure it out, I tried 3 different sound cards and it still did it, for me though it was the primary HD doing it.

--For anyone that wants to know it was a Packard Bell, so obviously that was apart of the problem
