I pulled out my old i7 8th Gen and a 1080 ti from storage to update it. Got offered Win 11 only to lose activation after upgrading. Tried several solutions with no luck. Not a big deal but I was wondering if anyone had this experience and what did you do to resolve it? Thank you.

First, click troubleshooting in the activation tab. If it's saved on MS servers, it will refresh and activate after verification. If not, then call MS.
Some PCs with previously activated keys need that verification for some reason. Some branded PCs need it after the first installation.

You can sometimes restore from their backup, if you use onedrive.

I have gone through many MB's with just one key..

I guess that is a "perk" of signing in.
