add pc3500 to 512mb of pc4200 help or hurt my performance

i have 512mb of ocz pc4200 running 1:1 on a 2.4c on dual channel mode.

will adding 256mb pc3500 to my 512mb of pc4200 hurt or help my performance


will it incease performance or hurt it

i am using p4c800 3 deluxe

planing to overclock
 
Well im no Intel pro.. But I know with AMD systems it will make all of the ram work at the lower sticks speed....So in your case they would all run at the speed the pc3500 is capable of...
And usually it is recommended to use the same sticks ..brand and type for stability and OC'n potential..

Personaly I would get the sticks matching..

I would advise against adding the other module, it will cause problems, as the 3500 EL is likely low latency (2-3-3-7) while the PC-4200 is CL 2.5-4-4-7...So you will be forced to run the modules at a slower speed with pretty lax timings.
