I have just recently added a 2nd PII 450mhz deschutes to my HP Kayak XU. Both CPU's are PII 450mhz with MX technology. The only difference between them is that one was made in the philipnes and one was made in Malaysia.

In the bios under processor is shows
Slot 1: Pentium II
Slot 2: Pentium II

Yet, under CPU-z it only shows 1 CPU and it running at 300mhz.

I've also added a 2nd VRM card, identicle to the first one.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Post this in the SMP forum.. or if a mod reads it maybe the will move it.

They'll be able to help you a little more with that.

I remember on one of my old board I had to set a jumper, to where if I wanted 1 or 2 cpus enabled.

oh bah i figured out what was wrong. The processors were different cores. One was deschutes, the other was Kitami or something. Running a pIII now instead of 2 PII's. Getting a Xeon next week.
