I have a 4 drive rig below my Crucial and Westerns Digital are connected to a SATA3 port and the others are SATA2 I was thinking of upgrading the last 2 to SATA3 via a SATA3 PCI-E Card would it be a bit pointless I can't afford to buy a new board or CPU at the moment and just thought a cheap-ish upgrade for the 2 drives might be worth it, I just don't know about the speed of SATA Card over onboard ports.

Am I correct when I assume your SSD's are all on SATA III and your HDD's are on SATA II?

No 1 SSD and 1 HDD are on SATA 3 and the other SSD and HDD are on SATA 2 I was going to move the 2nd SSD drive the Sandisk one to SATA 3 actually but because the Sandisk SSD is a £40 cheap-ish one I didnt think it would make any difference as it was from a friends laptop and the SSD didn't really give it a boost in performance.

You would gain a smidge from moving the second SSD to SATA III, but that's all.
Not enough to warrant an AIC.
