Concerning adding extra fans, and the need for power, could I 'bodge' a setup where I use a spare 4 pin molex to power a few fans? ie, i chop the connectors off the fans, then put these wires into the relevant hole in the molex, doing this several times? would there be enough power for them all? Or should I just get a 3 to 4 pin (is that what it is called?) and just use some of them instead??

That's what I did with my current case and it worked fine for me. Of course, the 4 80mm Sunons are noisy as hell, but it does a decent job keeping things cool.

As long as you get red -> yellow and black -> black, you'll do fine. That's just what a Y adapter does anyway.

Cheers! Saves me walking into town and finding no-one stocks the things anyway! Might try RF Potts though, a nice electrical shop that is so famous, people have come to it from 50 miles away by word of mouth!

And just to confirm it, what are the colours again? black to black and red to red? etc?

Red to red will give the fan 5 volts and it probably won't spin at all, so don't do that.

Fan / Power cable
Red / Yellow
Black / Black

Like that.
