I just placed an XP-1700 AGOIA on hold at a local computer store. They are selling them for $200 Canadian ($125 US) I will be picking it up tonight.

(Good news for Team Morpheous For the SETI races! ;) )

Just got the CPU. It is running a 160 MHZ FSB @ 1.775 Vcore straight out of the Box! (1.76 GHz)

CPU is at 49 Deg full load though. Will go higher when AX-7 Arrives.

I am using Micron 256 MB PC-2100 2-3-2-5, 1T

I have never ran prime, but it passed 3D Mark, and sandra. I need better cooling to go higher, and then I can add more voltages,, it's clocked down now to 1579 @ 1.65 Vcore :) and running at 46 @ full load.

100 MHz OC at .1 volts below default isn't too bad either :)

My AX-7 should be in next week hopefully.

2 weeks ago i ordered a 1600+ from NewEgg. It was an AGOIA. I just ordered another one last night. It should be here by monday, so I'll let you know if it's AGOIA as well.

RangerJoe: get the 1800! :(

NeoMoses What kind of results did you get from that AGOIA?

I got a 1700+ AGOGA stepping the last week and right out of the obx, I reached the motherboards FSB limit. It is only running at 1606 Mhz with the stock fan and is at 46 load and 1.71 v. No hiccups in XP I need a new MB!

Sidenote: I lived in Winnipeg for awhile about 2 years ago!

I remember that thread. these Agoias are nuts!!

Dylruss: you should unlock that thing and up the mults!!!

I don't really have a need to unlock since I am using the 8KHA+
It would help, but I can hadle crazy FSB's

I had a t-Bird @ 187 FSB and it was 100%,,maybe after Vcore mod and a better HSF I can hit 1.8 stable.

AudiMan: I want to unlock it, but I don't have the patience like I did with a pencil..lol Is it hard to do?

This stupid MB is only allowing 149 FSB...DOH!!

Not really, you just have to find a method that you think you can handle. I like the idea of using white nail polish to fill the pits, and then draw lines with conductive ink and a safety pin. that way works well for me.

Thats it, I am doing it this weekend, you convinced me it's the only way to go.:D Would I need some better cooling unit on my Proc?

So is the black parts on the proccessor the pits, or something blocking it? Soory I am a little dumb at XP unlocking.

there are pits between the L1 bridges, you have to fill them up so that it doesn't cause a short when you connect the metal posts.
I prefer to use masking tape over scoth tape when filling the pits in since it is easier to see how the posts are covered.

It is the stepping of the processor. Some steppings OC better than others. the Agoia is most definately the best stepping that I have owned. check my sig.

I noticed that AGOIA's do not need a lot of voltage to go high.
Perfect if you want a non OC'd quiet aircooled system!
