Idid it! Thanks to what I learned reading threads here I managed to get my c2d e6600 running @ 2.86 on stock voltage. I ran orthos for 9 hours with no problems, and temp maxed out @ 36C with ny Zalman cooler and 4 other fans.
My question is though the AI Booster reading that is oart of the ASUS P5W DH Dlx software package will drop from 318mhz to 308mhz while cpu-z and orthos keep reading 318. I even restarted cpu-z during orthos to see if it would give me the same reading as AI Booster but it still read 318 when booster read 308. Which is accurate? How can I get boster to stay steady @ 318? Thanks -Jim
