I'm wondering if anyone knows if these fans are the same or different and if they are cross compatible? I got the rgb c5 fan kit on a pretty good deal. I was interested in them because someone may be sending me some free used c5 fans (without the nessasary controller, he still wants that) if I want them, but not for a little while (after he gets around to rebuilding his computer). So I see a really good deal with a promo code on the c5 5 fan kit on amazon and order it. The seller is aig direct (maybe the manufacture, don't know). Rather than getting a c5 kit, I get a c3 kit which only comes with 3 fans and two more c3 fans. They were wrapped together in non transparent plastic bag. So I ask on the product page if they are the same because they look different in youtube reviews (hard to tell for sure without a side by side comparison). Someone says they are different, the c5 has much better lighting effects, and they are not cross compatible. The seller says they are the same. Youtube reviews kind of make it look like the lighting effects are better on the c5 but again, hard to tell without a side by side comparison. I'm more concerned about cross compatibility as I'll be past the return window when I get the other fans. I'm thinking if I try to exchange, I'm just going to get the same thing again, and I might as well avoid all the hassle. they are worth keeping for what I paid but I won't be able to use the extra fans if they are not compatible. I already talked to amazon and I can return and repurchase for $3 more (they kept getting the wrong amount on the discount, not going to push the issue over $3), but I cant just exchange. Amazon will cover the discount the seller originally gave me as it no longer works. I really don't want to deal with the hassel unless I know I can get the c5 kit and I'm thinking ill just get the same again. Fyi, fulfilled by amazon but sold by aig direct.
