Well ordered an antec Sx 1240 case it has locations for 3x80mm fans in front, 3 in the rear (2 on the bottom) and one above the power supply. My question is will these locations adequate for cooling or will I benefit from additional fan (s) on the side blowing at the Mobo and Hsf?:)

i would say install these fans, then check your temp from prior installation. maybe on the old case? then add the fans and see if they help lower the temps. you can always add more fans later. just get a dremel and your set:)

I emailed them and a new door is about $20 or $25 with latch + standard shipping rates (no crazy fees).

Cut away. I took my harddrive bays out (including drilling the mounts off) and airflow is much improved. I'm remounting my drives on the back panel.

I think this case yearns for a digitaldoc.

Personally I think this case could be lots quieter but the airflow design is very good even to my untrained eye. For instance the curvy separator balances flow over various areas of the Mobo, most air must pass over the CPU. Get a 120mm fan to use this feature to the full extent. It should even cool the bays by dragging a draft through the cracks.

I've gone over (and between) as many metal-on-metal joints as I can with Rubatex insulation tape and the noise level is lower than before.
