ive got the version 3.1 of the ak31 mainboard my problem is that until i rebooted last night to lower the fsb i was able to run stably at 155 fsb now if i try to set the fsb to anything other than 100 mhz it wont post ive done no mods to this board yet and this is seriously ruining my experience with an otherwise great board ive tried everything i can and it wont post at any other bus speed no matter what agp memeory or voltage is set at i even tried underclocking and still no dice anyone know what the problem could be?

i ahve to clear the cmos every time it doesnt post to get it to boot again the chips still unlocked but when i set the cpu ratio to default it boots at 1100 mhz instead og 1 gig like it should any ideas?

problem

Sounds like its using the wrong multiplyer, and the board is trying to compensate by using the fail-safe FSB setting of 100. You can probably fix it by removing the unlock or redoing it.

yeah i was thinking of it at work and did clean the cpu with nail polish remover when i got a new heatsink the other day i may have messed up the lockjob i still have one other problem though
ever since i got this board i havent been able to power my hard drive from the main psu if i do it doesnt boot with the rest of the system and when it spinds up in will out of nowhere just spin own then back up like i had a switch connected to just it or something ive tried the same hd on another board and it worked like it should right now im having to power the hd off of a secopnd psu outside my case. i originally though it might be a bad psu but its running to spec as far as i can tell and everything else runs fine off of it. i wpould really like to know an answer to this one its driving me nuts

it posts and boots into windows but i never looked to see what etting it to that did it made no different weith the hd problem and otherwise when im having no problems i always set up my bios by hand so i wouldnt know

the fsb problem is solved turned out to be a bad unlocking job but the default multiplier is still wrong in the bios lol

anyone got any ideas about the hd problem though?
