I have a problem... Whenever I play games in Direct 3D, my picture BREAKS in few places... I know this is not my monitor.. And Yes I did not smoke anything.. It BREAKS, and I know other have experienced similar problem... I downloaded a G2 tweak utility " NVmax " and I set the Vsync to ENABLE... I read when you disable the Vsync, your screen will tear like mine does now.... However THIS DID NOT HELP.. I even set the # of Frames to be rendered UP ahead to 80, and STILL nothign HELPS...

Also when I play games in Open GL ,, I don't HAVE this problem.......... HMmmmmmmmmm

How many of you G2 ULTRA owners experience similar problems... If no can you post your Direct 3D settings, and what TWEAK utility you use...

well direct 3d is for newbs lol play open gl man i think it looks alot better

just a question but what version of DX are you running and what drivers , I installed DX8.1 and it screwed up every direct 3d game I had in one way or another , but played fine in open gl ,hope this helps

I have Direct X 8.0a , And nvidia drivers 11.01 ........ This is strange , because my Screen Image breaks only In Direct 3D ... I had the same problem with dimond TNT 1... Right now I use open GL, but I want to finally fix that problem..... I read few articles, that said this is caused by Disabling V-sync in in Direct 3D... But in my case even when I enable V-sync I still get this screen tearing.... grrrr

Could be your video drivers (11.01). I dont have a geforce2 ultra but, ive had four nVidia cards over 3-4 yrs, TNT2, GeForce 256Pro, GF GTS2 and a Hercules GF3. All have had their share of bugs. None quite like the one you are describing though.

BTW, whoever tells you to just play in OpenGL needs a smack. OpenGL isn't just a rendering API, the games actually have to be written in it to support it.

NOT ALL GAMES SUPPORT OPENGL YOU ***.

Only thing i can suggest is...

1...READ THE GEFORCE FAQ at www.geforcefaq.com It is massive, this is about 98% likely to have a fix for ur problem.
