come on guys give me some feedback I am at futureshop, had hoped to see someone post a reply. It is a 5 speaker set including the sub but they are sold out so I will get a rain cheque. They have the 2 speaker 2.1 digital set with sub for $80 canadian so it was a good deal.

Any links for reviews as I do not have the time in between work appts this eve.

I don't know about those specific speakers, but I've always been a fan of Altec Lansing for computer speakers and I've heard nothing but good things about their 5.1 setup, so I'd say go for it.

well let me just say that I'm extremely happy with my Altec Lansing ADA 885 setup!! The sound is crystal clear, and loud too.....:D Sounds better than my regular stereo actually (which is a pioneer)

They are no Klips, but they only cost about $100.00

I am very satisfied w/ mine and unless you want to get some klips, then I would suggest the Lansings...

I have the ADA 885s too and I have never heard better/more clear sound anywhere then I have from these speakers. the 885s were discontinued and replaced with the 890s though but I can still get them from a little store near me for $199 (CAN).

If you could post the exact model of the speakers we could be more helpful. Most of the Altecs I have seen at futureshop are wimpy compared to the 885s/890s. the 885s have 4 15W speakers and one 60W METAL sub, 120W total (they sound about as loud as any 250W system Ive heard though). The speakers I see at FS are usually with a wooden sub and 90W or less of total power but I would imagine for the price they are a good deal.

EDIT: here is a link to the ADA 885s, I didnt realise they sold them online. They are $199 but they are the best speakers I've ever heard... I paid $299 when they were brand new and dont regret it, plus they come with a cool remote.
