No idea. I'll have to figure out if I want to return this one or continue with the RMA on the USB drive. I might contact Amazon and see if they will send another driver so I can transfer data over then return this current drive.

Update: problem not solved. It's now throwing an I/O error and I can no longer write a file to it. It stops at about 75%. Started a return with Amazon.

Hopefully second final update. Tested the replacement internal hard drive in the same setup in which the other failed. Worked 100% from the beginning.

Final update will be when i receive replacement external drive from WD.

Yeah, no matter what configuration I put the replacement drive in it works. Data is transferred, old drive wiped and needs to go back to Amazon. I really think I jinxed myself asking if I am a glutton for punishment. Literally, what are the chances of this happening? LOL
