am I out of my damn mind, creating a thermoformed window for stacker 830?

why didnt he just polish the aluminum? you can get a mirror shine with enough elbow grease.

Well looking at it from home. I *think* it looks good. It's still really hard to see the details. You need to find some kind of trim to go around the edge so you don't have to worry about a perfect cut. It would hide all those holes too.

I cant imagine what trim I could possibly use.

guess I could do black silicone sealant; hide the edge and the holes.

getting that to look good could be just as difficult though.

Im just torn. Assuming I get a good panel formed... which is a big assumption, and a good enough cut, and seal it well. do I want a window? more to the point, do I want a formed window, or would a flat window be better?

and it limits me from using the 4 fans there as well, no way for me to create circulation from the door after that. so all said and done, if I put my raptor drive on top, we're talking I then have 2 case fans plus PSU. takes the case from the greatest cooling design to one of the worst... thats a tough choice.

carefull to ventilate properly

I would PM MarkS about this project, he has done alot of custom forming work for another hobby.

yeah, keep going around in circles. I think it could look great, but I place too much focus on performance to make the sacrifice. and Ive had the "modded" look(unfinished and rough) for 3 years, I bought this case to have the clean finished look. I cant lose sight of that.

grates back in place and Im ordering a ton of yateloons to cool this thing to the core.

so what's going on with the acrylic window? any progress?

Looks sweet, try using some of this window gasket to go around it ( if you haven't thought of that already ).

As I said, that looks very very pimp. Judging from home much you are concerned with getting it perfect, I can't wait to see the finished product. Stackers are sw33t cases.

I gave up, any other day I coulda done it I think. but I got to thinking about it, and Id rather have the cooling available. solid door kills alot of the reason I bought such an expensive case to begin with.

would have looked great for sure.
