It's a very good overclock for a Thoroughbred 2600+ desktop CPU.

Be sure to post your voltage & temperatures (case & CPU), not to mention cooling and power supply brand to get helpful info....

Also, be sure to test it for stability as simply booting with 2.33 GHz may not mean it's stable at at that speed.

yep, theres still a little more room to go,but i dont reccomend you try this at home, beware!! :bday:

im wondering why would my pc detect my 2600 as a 2400 when its over cloked to 2.31 ghz but at 2.33 i get 2600 and the 2400 is with a 1.875 vcore oh and so far my prime95 running temp is 44-45

Any multiplier x FSB combo that is not default to standard supported CPUs get displyed one way or another, different on various machines with various BIOS versions.

Most BIOSes were not programmed to "correctly" display PR ratings of anything but standard multiplier x FSB combinations so no surprise there...

Because if any part of multiplier x FSB equation is altered to non standard settings, the display is unpredictable (different for many versions & systems out there) and sometimes inaccurate.

The BIOS doesn't recognize things like we do because cognitive thinking is not part of its programming, :) only default standard values are, which is why you get a simple MHz display instead of PR ratings on most systems when non-standard settings are used.

ohhh ok i understand now well atleast my oc is prime95 stable so far i have done like 16 tests now and its passed every one so far yeaaaaa :)

wow on my idleing for the oc is 38 with my cpu fan on fullblast but with it on silent mode it idles at 47-48 is this good the mobo temp is staying around 30 which aint all that bad i guess lol i cant wait till i get some more money so i can tinker around with water cooling lol
