This question is with regards to an Acer AMD K6233 board. It has 3PCI, 3 ISA slots. All slots seem to work except for one PCI slot that seems to be reserved...not sure though. Nothing works in this slot and we get a message "Early PCI VGA device" whenever trying to put any kind of PCI card here except for a Video Card where it just won't boot. When putting in a Sound Card or Ethernet Card in to this slot, the drivers can't be loaded...either locks up or just will not install. Is there something about this slot or something in the BIOS, etc. to have it work like the other two PCI slots. Can someone please help out here as we're trying to get another PCI card to work.

AMD K6233 and PCI SLOT???

I had the same problem on a FIC VA503+. I set "assign IRQ to VGA" to disabled and it worked fine. What chipset is on the mobo? My FIC was using the mvp3, I also loaded up the drivers for the mobo and never had the problem again, in fact I am using it right now because my other comp is temporarily out of service.
