how would i unlock the multiplier? do i just have to do the l1 bridges, or is that for the fsb. do i need any of the other bridges connected

My recommendation would be to check under the AMD Processor forum, and do a search on "unlock" or "pencil trick." Might also wanna read the front page.

There's a wealth of knowledge to be had here. A little bit of searching, and you can find more than you want to.

Yes connect the L1 bridges on your duron to unlock the multiplier ..you do not need to unlock the multiplier to raise the FSB.. EDIT: Beat by seconds by Wa11y..

after i do that i still cant use the multiplier DIP switch on my motherboard, do i have to do something else

What did u use to unlock it?
U can use a pencil or rear window defoger repair kit

# 2 Pencil connect the L1 bridges very carefully across, don't let the pencil marks connect to each other, clean straight lines.
my gf's duron is unlocked that way, as/ 800 now 1050 w/ more voltage

If it doesn't work, erase it and try again. Make sure none of the marks touch any other marks or any bridges other than the ones you are trying to connect. If it still doesn't work, try a different pencil. Defogger kits and conductive pens work as well, if not better than pencil. Just make sure you read about how to do it first.

i've done that and the fsb works, but i still can't use the multiplier DIP switch, whats wrong?
