Okay so my friend gave me his R7240 amd graphics card and it wont work on my computer.
My computer is pretty old and has an amd athlon ii x3 435 processor
i have 6gb ram
running windows 10 and whenever i boot my computer it wont boot or beep or anything.
When it normally does, if i unplug it it works perfectly fine.
Can anyone help im not sure what my motherboard is or anything:confused:

What power supply is in there, and what graphics card was in there before (or were you using the integrated graphics)?

Also, did you try clearing the CMOS with the card installed?

If you don't know what motherboard you have, that's fine, can you take a picture of it? Same thing with the power supply label if you're unsure on that.

I found out that my motherboard is GA-MA78LMT-S2
my power supply only says 230v and i was using the nvidia 8400gs before and it was working no problem
i have also cleared my bios and taken the battery out for 10 minutes then it still wont work, i can set the bios so that it starts up with integrated but when it starts to boot windows nothing...

Nvidia to AMD card. You need to use DDU to clean out the drivers and then install your AMD driver.

I used DDU to uninstall the nvidia drivers and it rebooted and i am currently installing the drivers for AMD r7240 by the website
