Do the new Thoroughbred's run significantly cooler than the old Palomino's

The reason i am asking this is because my amd xp 2000 is runing so hot i have to have tons of fans to keep it cool and my ears cant handle all those fans.

Maybe i could look into watercooling, i dont know alot about it but i hear its very quiet

T-breds generate slightly less heat than Palaminos, but since they have a smaller core size they have less surface area to get rid of heat (so they end up running hotter). If you want to know the wattage your processor generates you could look at this page.

And yes, water cooling can be very quiet if you use the right components.
