Sweet!... once it gets below or near $120 im gonna go 64:D , Its good to see that AMD is alowing to prices to fall quickly

lol yeah I was thinking the same thing. But its kinda sad when the cpu is one of the cheapest part in a pc.

hmmm it is looking alot better now buying these.
but what is the mhz on the +3000? 1.6 or 1.8ghz?

anyhow the lower locked multi is gonna make it a horrable ocer.
as ive been reading with the +3200 the mobos cant run high enough fsb to max the cpu out.

if it was unlocked id buy one NOW!
till then who knows.

i thought the 64 bit procs were unlocked but the xp's durons and so on are locked

Nah....AMD is tryin to make some moolah off of us poor OCers. The only chips that arent locked are the super-expensive FX series, and the soon to be Athlon 939 pin Athlon FX-__ . Which, naturally, will cost ya an arm & leg

Eh, I dont think these are gonna be worth it, being that socket 754 is going to be gimped in the future.

Socket 754 will continue for quite a while, but the future processors will only have 512kb or 256kb of L2 cache.

Notice that this is a "special order." So its not in stock yet. Who knows how long until it ships... They just want to lock in your cash NOW.

Yes they will have lower cache, but they will be offered as a budget solution (similar to duron)

This is what I mean by gimped. The prices of the FX should be lower this time next year, so nobody is going to bother with these 754's.

I would hope that you would spend more on your LCD than on your video card.

Once AMD is leveled out and situated, prices will be like this.

Athlon 64FX will be priced simularly to the Athlon XP back when it was top.

Athlon 64, will be priced simularly to the Durons, back when they were top value(low end athlon XPs are now)
