well heres the error....and when I scan with AVG, it comes up clean...doesn't seem to affect anything...but it's annoying...I think I can link this to the error I was getting with FProt....
First, the swear word is uncool as this is a G rated forum... it seems the virus is located in system restore... disable system restore, rerun the virus scanner and after it removes it, reenable system restore if you want.
System restore is a hidden system file you will not see it unless you have the unhide protected operating system files. but just turn off system restore and reboot into safemode and scan your system.
If you’re running XP, right click my computer > click on properties > click on the system restore tab then check Turn off system restore. I would also disable system restore in services as well. Then boot into safe mode run your AV to scan your system.
Disabling system restore should clear the contents of the restore folder, and effectivly eliminate your problem. Just turn it off, reboot, turn it on, reboot, and run AVG again. It should be gone.
