Hey guys,

I am assembling my "backup" rig with an E6300. Well, I don't want to buy expensive ram, so I am using my PQI DDR2-667. I can squeeze DDR2-800 speeds out of it, but not much more. So, I would be limited to 400fsb at 1:1 and that isn't enough for an E6300. Does anyone know any 965 motherboards that can run the ram slower? I know my P5W-DH will, but that thing won't pass 430 fsb or so. Thanks in advance.

965P's lowest ram divider is 1:1 period.
i650 might be the best option for running slower ram on a budget (the boards should top out at ~$150) here in a month or so. Depending on how well it overclocks FSB. Time will tell on that one.

I was afraid of that. I wondered why ram held these boards back more often than not. Well, I think I'll sell my 2gb of pqi for a fast 1gb set then.
