I somehow set my non-raid hdds into raid and no longer have access to the files, over 750gb worth! I used a shareware program at first and it still saw my files as I DID NOT FORMAT the disks yet, basically I switched it to raid 0 somehow and then back to non-raid. Is there any freeware solutions?

is your sata configuration set to raid

Excuse my ignorance here but, cant you set them back and recover the files just fine?

i dont think so, at least whenever i set up my raid it erases the disks once i create the raid disk.

Why cant you use the shareware program that you mentioned which saw all your files

you can try something like active partition recovery. They have a free demo so you can see if it can do what you want and make sure it see's your deleted files before purchasing the software.

for clarification your recovering files on a non raid hard disk right?

cuz full version was like 140USD! to answer my own post, testdisk works and is freeware! Recovering my 80gb of music now! If u ever use it just follow the wiki step by step guide! Yay! Most shareware programs couldn't even read my disk. Testdisk is now a part of my essential software suite with 7-zip. I never can seem to figure why open source software is almost always the best. Its just usually ugly but it works well. I love firefox too.
