i'm looking at picking up an a7a266 board with a 1.2 tbird. i'm new to the overclocking but have been reading as much as i can on here. i'm just wanting to hear all the bad and good stuff about the board. i didn't see anything about it in the motherboard reviews. any and all probs and experiences would be great. thanks. i've yet to post anything on this board but all the other responses i've seen have great.

I have a a7a266 with a 1.2..it works pretty well so far, but I haven't been able to test it much yet (don't have my operating system install disk...)

But, be warned, if you get a glaciator, its a VERY, VERY tight fit...

My A7A266 was DOA. I haven't heard that there are problems with the board though. I'm probably the only one in the world with this problem, which falls right in line with my luck.

I put together a system for a friend with a7a board and it screamed. 1.33 was clocked to 1486 (? don't remember the exact number) during windows install and ran fine.

I got lucky and got one of the boards that have the 10 dipswitchs not just the 4 that the older ones have (gotta love Newegg.com). the only problem i have with the board is 1. I killed the first one I got but that was due to a opps when installing a HSF, I broke off a resistor. 2. No matter what i do it wont let me change the multipliers in the bios only with the switches which i just inconvenient.
But otherwise I love the board.

I have had nothing but success with this board. It is extremely stable and a good overclocker.

Hey cyn2o, I have the same cpu and mobo as you and I am just wondering as to how you are cooling the cpu. So far I haven't had many problems with this mobo, the first one I got went bad and I have no idea how. This one seems to be holding up ok. I need to cool it though.

OH I almost forgot, have you guys updated the BIOS to 1004 ? because I think that boosts your temps almost 10 C, I think its something wrong with the BIOS itself, so I am not too sure about that.

I just ordered The A7A with a T-Bird 1.2 gig myself yesterday! From what I've read. Bios ver. 1004 is what you need to change the multiplier from within the bios.

I have an Antec SX1030B with 4/80mm case fans. I am cooling the CPU with a Hedgehog and a quiet 34cfm fan from a VolcanoII.

I bought an original a7a266 with only 4dip switches &1002bios put a wire on it & updated to1004 bios now works great if you get the newer one with 10dip switches you'll have a great board with easy ocing
