Any "REAL" ways to speed up Cable Modem?

I know there are a lot of programs that claim they can speed up the cable modem / network connection.

Is there any true ways to tweak it to get the maximum performance out of it?

I've seen things like modem boosters, don't know if they work or not.

Uncapping... of course that's illegal (DON'T BAN ME!) Just try one of those tweaking programs. I don't know how much benefit you'll see. It'll prolly be a few kb/sec if anything at all.
